• Civil Site Development (Birmingham & Auburn, AL) Holland+Seals is a growing company and has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Leader to join our civil development team in Birmingham, AL and Auburn, AL.

The ideal candidate would be a recent construction related graduate or have at least 2 years of construction background with prior civil site experience. Candidate must be hardworking, have the ability to lead, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties that will be performed include, but not limited to: Review plans and specifications with trade partners on site and communicate the scope of work. Learn to utilize a GPS Base & Rover for layout as needed on the jobsite. Attend and sometimes conduct jobsite meetings with trade partners, engineers, and city officials to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job. Ensure construction schedules are being met and also updated on a DAILY basis. Responsible for submitting daily logs and progress reports through provided project management software. Coordinate and oversee regulatory inspections set forth by the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction). Assist other Project Leaders. Procure material and issue variance purchase orders for any unforeseen items that arise outside of the original budget and scope. Clearly communicate scope of work and pricing requirements with trade partners. Mentor and lead other less experienced team members as the role progresses. Attend weekly 1:1 meeting with Direct Report. Attend mandatory process briefings and quarterly All-Staff events. Work longer hours as needed to make sure given responsibilities and tasks have been completed.

Daily Reporting Location:

This is a field position that reports to various jobsites and requires daily interaction on the jobsite. The following Experience

Related construction experience. Ability to read a set of construction plans. Proficiently utilize project management software, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and estimating tools: PlanSwift, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Buildertrend, Procore, etc. Ability to use layout tools such as a Builders level, total station, or GPS Base and Rover. Ability to adapt quickly and change with innovative technology. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude. Base Salary, depending on experience, bonus potential based on performance. Great benefits!
