Competitive Benefits Package The position of Project Estimator/Detailer-ASWP is an integral role to AMERICAN’s enhanced focus on project management and customer service. This position uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to complete drafting assignments and create detailed schematics that are utilized in the manufacturing of products. Develops estimates of materials needed to complete various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
Conduct timely take-offs from engineer’s drawings to develop piping quotations using CAD software. Ensure accurate quotations of materials to support Sales in securing orders.
Detailing:
Utilize CAD software to create layouts and detailed drawings from engineer’s specifications. Interpret engineering specs for
AMERICAN
products, maintain product knowledge, and produce detailed drawings for production and installation.
General Responsibilities:
Provide top-quality customer service and project management. Assist in resolving customer issues, manage projects from concept to production release, maintain CAD files, and interface with managers and engineers to ensure accurate documentation and troubleshooting. Adhere to technical specifications, internal processes, safety rules, and perform other duties as instructed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must exhibit ability to understand technical information.
Must exhibit good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Must exhibit good telephone manner.
Must exhibit a positive customer service attitude and demeanor.
Must exhibit the ability to work while under stress.
Must exhibit good attention to detail.
Must have substantial prior work experience in drafting or an associate degree in drafting from an accredited school. (Samples of work required and skills must be demonstrated.)
Must demonstrate the ability to accurately work basic math, geometry and trigonometry problems.
Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must exhibit the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job duties.
Must exhibit a high degree of professional flexibility, especially in work hours, as well as adaptability to the evolving Customer Service function and rush demands of customers.
Must demonstrate ability to be resourceful in answering customer needs with
AMERICAN
products and applications.
Must be willing to travel, on a limited basis, for customer relationship building.
Must exhibit prior experience or training with computer software such as CAD or other relevant software.
Must be willing and able to work extra hours on weekdays, weekends, or holidays as required to fulfill job duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous drafting experience in the mechanical field, such as piping, equipment, and pressure vessels.
Knowledge of basic engineering concepts.
Experience in the water and/or wastewater industry is preferred.
Prior experience or training in customer service and project management.
Associate degree or college courses completed in engineering, math, science, business, and/or project/construction management.
Knowledge of
