The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management, project management, and cost control, as well as the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. The Project Estimator will work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Duties Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects. Collaborate with fabrication team to assess project requirements and develop accurate pricing strategies. Collaborate with drafter on review drawings prior to production. Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and assess potential challenges that may impact project costs. Monitor ongoing projects for cost control, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints throughout the construction process. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on estimated costs, providing insights into potential risks and opportunities. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field. Proficient in AutoCad and MS Excel Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. A background in cost control practices within the construction industry is highly desirable.
