Day:

Ensure accurate cost coding and quantity tracking for self-performed work Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect project margins Analyze construction drawings to visualize the completed structure and determine optimal building methods Communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders Apply deep technical knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction processes to enhance estimating accuracy Utilize software to generate estimates and assess material needs Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and ensure pricing accuracy based on market conditions Provide scope clarifications to ensure transparency in bids and avoid misinterpretations Lead value engineering efforts to optimize costs while maintaining quality and functionality Collect subcontractor and supplier pricing to establish competitive estimates Develop preliminary schedules and identify key milestones critical to project success Structure work breakdowns (WBS) that enhance project tracking and reporting accuracy Prepare comparative cost assessments that demonstrate shifts in pricing from past estimates

MUST HAVE

• 5+ years of experience in shell construction estimating is an absolute must
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
• Ability to interpret technical documents and translate them into accurate cost projections
• Detail-oriented approach with proficiency in report writing and strategic planning
• Familiarity with large-scale material and labor cost analysis for commercial projects
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
