Job Overview:
The Roofing Estimator will be responsible for assisting in the estimation of roofing projects, reviewing plans and blueprints, and ensuring accurate pricing and project specifications. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in the construction and roofing industry, with training provided for all necessary technical skills. The role will be 100% office-based, no field visits required.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze roofing project plans, blueprints, and specifications (spec books) Prepare accurate estimates for roofing projects by analyzing project scope and materials Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information Work closely with senior estimators and project managers to ensure estimates align with company standards Maintain detailed and organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and documents Assist in preparing bid packages and project proposals for clients Review job site conditions, if necessary, to gather information for accurate project estimates Perform other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) Strong computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, and estimation software) Ability to read and understand construction plans, blueprints, and spec books Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Must have reliable transportation and be willing to commute between West Palm Beach and Oakland Park offices as needed A background in construction or accounting is preferred, but not required A knowledge of Florida roofing regulations is required. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and team player mentality
