We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with expertise in quantity take-off and pricing analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, maintaining, and analyzing project estimates in alignment with the AACE estimate classification system . This role is critical to the successful execution of our projects, and the Estimator will collaborate closely with owners, project managers, engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate cost estimates and evaluate scope change orders.
Responsibilities:
Ability to perform quantity take-offs Read and interpret construction drawings, with a focus on civil, architectural, and structural areas. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate and timely cost estimation. Monitor and report on project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Conduct risk analysis and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential cost overruns. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction methods. Provide support during the bidding process, including reviewing and analyzing bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Conducting value engineering studies of selected projects Analyzing change order requests to determine and ascertain the validity of cost elements. Analyzing bidding activity in the local market to best assist in developing bidding strategies for upcoming projects. Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (OR) 5+ years of detailed cost estimating experience without bachelor’s degree. Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in developing and managing cost estimates for medium to large-scale projects. Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope, time, cost, and risk management. Familiarity with local codes, building regulations, and AACE estimate classification systems. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools such as Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, Etc. Strong knowledge of construction estimating tools and Microsoft Excel .
Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders. Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative. Perform additional project controls-related duties as required. Preferred Certifications Certifications such as AACEI – CEP, CCE or CCEA or ASPE Experience conducting market analysis for bidding strategies
