The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive project bids. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create accurate estimates. Collaborate with project managers to assess project scope and develop budgets. Conduct site visits to gather information on construction site conditions and requirements. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from potential bidders and clarifying project details. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents. Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers. Familiarity with cost control measures in construction projects. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
