Estimator and Project Manager Miatt Construction, Inc. Orange Park, FL 32073 Overview We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management and estimating, with a proven ability to build accurate and competitive project estimates. This role is essential for ensuring cost control and effective project management throughout the estimating process. The Estimating Manager will oversee a team of estimators, guiding them in the preparation of bids and contracts while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Duties Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and support in the preparation of project estimates. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Utilize HeavyBid software for creating detailed pricing models and managing bid submissions. Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution plans. Conduct thorough reviews of bid documents to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing strategies, and construction site requirements. Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations while managing the estimating process effectively. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of cost control principles. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and contract evaluation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Familiarity with construction site operations and project management practices is highly desirable.
