The ideal candidate would include but not be limited to estimating projects with the responsibility of preparing cost estimates and take-offs for commercial buildings, including both ground up and build outs. Must be able to rely on the use of construction plans and their own experience in the industry to prepare and analyze project costs. This role requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of commercial construction. Duties Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects. Collaborate with project management to develop comprehensive project budgets. Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, labor, and transportation for estimations, including analyzing how long a project’s completion will be. Utilize software tools to create detailed estimates and manage project data. Requirements Established experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a minimum of 1-year construction estimating experience. Strong understanding of construction costs, including labor and materials. Proficiency in estimating software is preferred. Excellent negotiation skills with General Contractors. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while preparing multiple estimates simultaneously. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of owner/architects’ requirements, with the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documents.
