Job Description

Estimator 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Jacksonville, FL 32238 We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Hardscape Manager to join a high-performing team specializing in commercial hardscape construction. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in estimating and construction processes and will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from identifying bid opportunities to closing business and overseeing execution on site.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of commercial estimating and construction practices Proven ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and related documents Proficient in commercial hardscape construction Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field Minimum of 4 years of experience in the commercial construction industry Ability to present and close business opportunities effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe PDF Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent for quantity take-offs Experience with large format plotting of construction plans Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills Keen attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure Effective time management, organizational skills, and teamwork

Responsibilities:

Research and identify viable project bid opportunities Review and analyze scopes of work, plans, specifications, and other documentation Determine material and subcontractor needs Maintain and utilize cost data for accurate estimating Perform quantity takeoffs and solicit subcontractor bids Address and resolve scope discrepancies Assemble, review, and present detailed cost estimates for executive approval Present proposals and follow up with clients Manage the sales cycle through closing and project hand-off Oversee construction processes, attend client meetings and job walk-throughs Maintain clear records of client communication and verbal agreements Provide regular progress and financial reporting to the CEO Carry full P&L responsibility for assigned projects
