Job responsibilities include:

Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and identify potential cost factors. Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bids. Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and cost information. Prepare preliminary construction schedules and coordinate all aspects of preconstruction. Review project specifications and drawings to assist in development of bid packages. Evaluate bids from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements. Monitor project costs throughout construction process, identify any discrepancies, analyze project expenditures against budgeted targets. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to create cost effective outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, and at least 5 years of experience preferred.

Estimating Background:

Knowledge and experience providing budgetary and detailed cost estimates on multiple disciplines for new construction and renovation. TMC projects typically include bridge or structures so knowledge of those fields is preferred. Eye for
