Job Overview:

The Commercial Roofing Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of commercial roofing projects. This role involves assessing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with sales, project management, and procurement teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, strong analytical skills, and excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough site inspections to gather necessary information for accurate project estimates. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and timelines. Collaborate with sales and project management teams to discuss project details and develop strategies for winning bids. Monitor market trends, material costs, and industry developments to ensure estimates are competitive and reflect current conditions. Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators or team members. Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and project documentation. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed. Assist in post-bid analysis and project handover to the operations team.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating or a related field. In-depth knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and construction methods. Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Edge Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
