The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in glass/glazing & construction estimating, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Duties Review project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed take-offs and pricing. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess project requirements and constraints. Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating, including assessing construction site conditions. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management review, outlining estimates and justifications. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project. Experience Proven experience in the glass/glazing industry within construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles. Familiarity with cost control measures and techniques to ensure profitability on projects. Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools is preferred. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of construction site operations and safety protocols is advantageous.
