Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Estimator at Panther Air Conditioning in Miami, FL. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for assessing project requirements, calculating costs, preparing bids, and collaborating with the project management team to ensure accurate estimations. Key Responsibilities Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems. Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and related documents. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and vendors to determine accurate costs. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Develop and maintain an organized database of project estimates, costs, and historical data. Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals to clients or management. Monitor and update project estimates based on design changes or unforeseen conditions. Ensure all estimates are compliant with company standards, safety regulations, and local codes. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in [insert relevant industry, e.g., HVAC, plumbing, construction]. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., FastEST, PlanSwift, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar. Familiarity with project management tools and practices.
