Full-Time Permanent Position Summary:
As a Senior Cost and Schedule Engineer, Risk Analyst , you will develop, manage, and coordinate large, multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules, including analyses of risk to construction costs and schedules. Working with a dynamic team of engineers, cost estimators, schedulers, and risk analysts within MSI’s Project Controls & Cost Engineering Practice, you will lead projects and mentor others in skill development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the timely development of multi-disciplinary cost estimates, construction schedules, and Construction Cost and Schedule Risk Analyses (CSRAs). Prepare and deliver cost estimates, construction schedules, and CSRAs while collaborating with the project team. Develop basis of estimate reports and CSRA reports for end users. Provide innovative solutions for construction and estimating challenges. Interface with management and client counterparts for specific estimating and risk analysis tasks. Serve as a point of contact for cost estimating and/or risk analysis for internal clients. Manage and guide junior and intermediate staff members. Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and tools for construction cost and schedule estimating, and risk analysis.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience:
15 years of combined experience in engineering, estimating, or risk analysis roles preferred. Extensive technical knowledge of cost estimating, engineering design, and construction practices. Advanced understanding of contract methods and their application to estimating. Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project). Proficiency in estimating platforms like Sage Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS, or equivalent. Experience with Oracle Crystal Ball for Monte Carlo simulations to support CSRA development. (Experience with other risk analysis software such as Lumivero @Risk or Deltek Acumen Risk is a plus.) Familiarity with U.S. federal guidelines for cost and schedule estimates, and CSRAs. Willingness to travel for site reconnaissance and client interfacing (domestic travel may be periodically required). Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary estimators to develop comprehensive project estimates. Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation. Ability to mentor and guide team members in construction-based estimating techniques and methodologies. Positive attitude with excellent relationship-building skills. US Citizenship required due to clientele and nature of projects supported.
