Key Responsibilities Estimation & Cost Analysis Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates for commercial and government construction projects. Analyze historical data and trends for improved forecast accuracy. Review subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment. Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Bid Preparation & Strategy Lead end-to-end bid process from scope review to final submission. Coordinate with project teams to ensure realistic and executable estimates. Maintain clear documentation and support rationale for bid pricing. Stakeholder Communication Collaborate with clients, engineers, and trade partners to clarify scopes and assumptions. Present estimates and key risk factors to company leadership and PM teams. Operational Efficiency Refine estimating processes and integrate software tools to enhance productivity. Maintain and update cost databases with current market rates and trends. Conduct post-mortem reviews to refine future estimating accuracy. Team Oversight Create scopes for all disciplines and manage bid schedules. Develop high-level project timelines and assign internal estimating tasks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, and estimating platforms such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, Building Connected or equivalent. Deep understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and market conditions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a results-driven mindset. Proven ability to manage risk and meet strategic goals through detailed forecasting.
