Summary:
We are currently looking for a construction estimator to join our estimating department. The ideal candidate would have prior experience in residential construction/estimating. Intermediate computer knowledge, organizational skills and the ability to be detail- oriented are a must. Previous shell construction is preferred – Concrete, Block, Wood Framing and Siding.
Reports to:
Estimating Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ability to meet deadlines for estimates efficiently and accurately. Review and understand contract specifications, documents and drawings to perform material takeoffs accurately. Develop a strong understanding of in-house operating systems and their connection to the estimating department. Comprehensive knowledge of the shell construction process from start to completion within the assigned scope of work. Thorough understanding of project scope, including the ability to distinguish inclusions and exclusions within plans. Collaborate with Operations and Field Management to ensure proper material ordering and utilization. Assist with other estimating duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in shell construction estimating. Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and REVU Bluebeam software. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings. Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to various software tools. Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction concepts, terminology, and workflows. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented mindset, with a problem-solving approach when challenges arise.
