Summary:
The Estimator for Power (Transmission and Distribution) specializes in preparing cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage transmission lines and distribution systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, materials, and construction processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and proposals to assess project requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical data.
- Assess potential risks and incorporate risk analysis into project estimates.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes in all estimates.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bid documents.
- Provide support in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially related to transmission and distribution.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
- Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
