Starts at $120K We are a well-established (full-service) commercial contracting firm specializing in painting, waterproofing, and structural restoration of aging buildings to join this team in September 2025! With a strong reputation for excellence in servicing residential complexes, high-rise buildings, community associations, hospitals, and medical facilities, we are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project scopes, conducting site visits, reviewing specifications, and preparing detailed and competitive bids. This role requires an in-depth understanding of commercial building construction, particularly structures that are 20+ years old, and a background in coatings, waterproofing systems, and structural repairs.

Duties:

Conduct job site inspections to assess existing conditions on buildings 20+ years old. Analyze architectural drawings, engineering reports, and specifications. Develop detailed take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to clarify project scope and schedule. Identify and quantify potential risks and constructability issues related to older buildings. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, materials, and methods related to waterproofing, exterior coatings, and structural restoration. Attend pre-bid meetings and client walk-throughs when required.

Education:

Minimum 10+ years of construction estimating experience, with a focus on building restoration, waterproofing, and exterior painting. Knowledge of aging building materials, façade deterioration, moisture intrusion, and remediation techniques. Strong familiarity with estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quantity takeoffs and pricing. Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for site visits. Experience estimating projects in Florida or coastal/humid environments. Familiarity with OSHA standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices. Background in coatings (elastomeric, epoxy, etc.), sealants, joint systems, and masonry repairs.
