Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading construction plans and performing accurate takeoffs, cost estimating, and bid preparation. This role is critical in supporting our preconstruction and project teams to ensure competitive and profitable project proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all divisions of work. Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare and organize bid proposals and budgets for various construction projects. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to clarify scope and pricing. Maintain and update historical cost data and databases. Identify risks and opportunities within estimates and offer value engineering solutions. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings. Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, or similar). Strong analytical and math skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
