Civil Estimator As a Civil Estimator at McLeod Land Services Inc, you will be an integral part of our construction projects, ensuring accurate cost estimations and contributing to the successful execution of various civil engineering ventures. Your expertise in estimating and budgeting will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our projects. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Responsibilities :
Analyze project plans, specifications, and engineering drawings to determine the scope and requirements of each project. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential data for accurate cost estimations. Estimate the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for each project phase, considering all relevant factors and cost variables. Calculate project budgets and provide cost breakdowns for different components of the projects. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality and safety. Assist in preparing bid proposals for new projects and participate in the bid review process. Monitor project costs and adjust estimations as necessary throughout the project’s lifecycle. Stay updated with industry trends, construction costs, and market fluctuations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in civil engineering estimating in construction projects. Proficiency in estimating software and tools commonly used in the industry. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate estimations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with various stakeholders effectively. Ability to work independently and within a team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility. Familiarity with construction practices, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
