The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for selective and complete demolition projects ranging from $5,000-$1M. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other project managers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget. Qualifications
- Construction trades knowledge or experience in the field, High school or other trades classes, or prior estimating experience
- Time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering invitations to bid(ITB) or requests for quotes(RFQ) and extracting contact information, drawings, specifications, and related documents
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed to familiarize yourself with the job site conditions and scope.
- Identifies and analyzes labor, equipment, time requirements and other market conditions from drawings, specifications, location, vendor quotes, and related documents to be used in the estimate
- Performs detailed quantity takeoffs
- Consults with contractors, vendors and in house personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve possible issues
- Prepare requests for information(RFI’s) to general contractors for any unknown or required information
- Building relationships with national, regional and local contractors Skills
- Knowledge of estimating fundamentals
- General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, and Unit contract pricing mechanisms
- Aptitude for mathematics and critical thinking with the ability to analyze, compare and interpret detailed, but sometimes poorly defined information, and be able to make sound and accurate judgments based on this information and past experience with similar projects
- Ability to focus on details, while analyzing and managing larger obstacles
- Driven and self-motivated problem solver with excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and stress to meet bid deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy to provide accurate estimates
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as excel, word, outlook, etc. Estimating software or CAD type software a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications; ability to compose basic as well as complex technical documents and formal letters; ability to effectively verbally communicate with all
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
