The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of construction and remodeling processes, coupled with a proven ability to evaluate project requirements and generate precise, comprehensive estimates. This position plays a critical role in supporting project planning and execution by ensuring accuracy in cost projections and resource allocations—ultimately contributing to timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery. Key Responsibilities Review architectural blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, and project documents to generate accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to define project scope, budget constraints, scheduling needs, and quality expectations. Conduct comprehensive site assessments to gather field data necessary for accurate estimating and risk evaluation. Prepare and present detailed written proposals, bid packages, and cost breakdowns that clearly communicate pricing, timelines, and assumptions. Monitor ongoing projects to evaluate actual costs versus estimates; proactively revise estimates to reflect changes in scope, labor, or materials. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and access to the best materials and labor resources. Stay current with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry trends to ensure all estimates meet compliance requirements. Maintain and update a database of unit costs, productivity rates, and historical data for use in future estimates. Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within residential or commercial remodeling, renovation, or general contracting. Extensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and trade-specific processes including: Framing Carpentry Concrete Forming and Finishing Masonry and Structural Components Drywall and Interior Finishing Stucco and Exterior Systems Renovation and Restoration Practices Hands-on experience in the field (e.g., carpentry, maintenance work) is highly valued and considered a strong asset. Familiarity with modern estimating tools and software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Buildertrend) as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost data clearly and professionally. Capable of lifting and handling materials or tools as may occasionally be required for site visits or fieldwork. Why Join Us?
