Job Overview Diversify Electrical Systems is seeking a Low Voltage Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for estimating, bidding, and analyzing costs for low-voltage projects, including structured cabling, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and audio-visual systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors. As a low voltage Estimator you will: Conduct material takeoffs and accurately quantify materials needed for projects. Estimate labor costs for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Perform cost analysis to identify factors influencing project expenses. Prepare comprehensive bid documents, including pricing, inclusions, and exclusions. Develop detailed project proposals outlining accurate pricing and scope. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to estimate project requirements. Maintain knowledge of construction materials and their associated costs. Apply basic electrical concepts to low-voltage system applications. Integrate project specifications into bid proposals. Work closely with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Obtain pricing and bids from vendors/subcontractors. Clearly communicate project scope, pricing, and timelines to stakeholders. Conduct turnover meetings with Project Managers after a successful bid to relay all relevant project details. Conduct site inspections to assess conditions and potential issues. Utilize Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam for documentation and project management. Assist in subcontractor management by preparing subcontracts and purchase orders. Maintain detailed project documentation, including estimates and bids. Provide on-site project support as needed. Requirements Proven background in estimating low-voltage projects. Strong understanding of structured cabling, security systems, access control, and fire alarm systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools. Excellent ability to collaborate with teams and present project details clearly.
