Responsibilities:
Provide accurate estimates for commercial plumbing projectsCollaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to gather project specificationsAnalyze construction blueprints and project requirements to determine costsPresent detailed cost breakdowns to clientsWork closely with project managers to ensure accurate budgeting and schedulingStay updated on industry advancements, building codes, and regulationsCalculate cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposesPrepare material lists for shop fabrication and vendors and order miscellaneous materials required for installation of plumbing systemsReview and qualify vendor quotes against bid documents to ensure accurate scope coverage at the time of the bidPerform detailed bid document reviews to accurately capture/solicit vendors/subs for quotesAttend Pre-Bid Surveys to incorporate site conditions into the estimatePerform detailed take-offs and produce estimate software reportsIdentify, compile, and submit RFI questions in a timely mannerConsult with clients, vendors, and Project Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issuesCollect remaining estimating price data (i.e., management and general conditions costs)Perform breakout, alternate & value engineering pricing as requiredAssist with proposal scope letters for accurate inclusions, exclusions & qualificationsProvide project turnover information afterwardAssist in tracking bid status to acquire bid resultsParticipate in prime/general contractor bid review meetingsSelect inclusions, exclusions & qualifications for accurate proposal scope lettersProvide project turnover information after award and participate in turnover meetingsDetermine actual project scope and costSet up job schedules and timelinesOther duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Commercial Plumbing EstimatorIn-depth knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and construction methodsProficiency in interpreting construction blueprintsStrong mathematical and analytical skillsFamiliarity with estimating software and toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExceptional attention to detail and ability to work under deadlinesProfessional certification or degree in plumbing, construction management, or related field is a plusBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or HS Diploma with 3 years estimating experience or HS Diploma with 5 years trade-related experienceKnowledge of plumbing codes and systemsKnowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipmentKnowledge of Estimating Software, Excel, Word, and other relevant computer programsPossession of a valid
