Onsite System One is currently seeking a Distribution FieldEstimator on a 5 month contract position located in Jonesboro, GA.

Distribution Field Estimator Responsibilities:

Responsible forassessing field conditions and gathering data to estimate the costand feasibility of projects related to electrical powerdistribution systems. This position involves conducting on-siteinspections, collaborating with engineering teams, and providingaccurate estimates for distribution projects. Conduct site visitsto assess the current conditions of electrical distributionsystems, including poles, wires, transformers, and relatedequipment. Gather detailed information and measurements about theexisting infrastructure, such as equipment specifications,materials, and dimensions. Maintain accurate records of fieldobservations and measurements. Create detailed reports and sketchesof distribution system components. Collaborate with engineers andproject managers to estimate the cost of repair, maintenance,upgrades, or new installations based on field data and projectrequirements. Determine the quantities of materials and labor hoursrequired for distribution projects. Obtain pricing information formaterials from suppliers. Contribute to the creation of projectbudgets by providing accurate cost estimates. Ensure that budgetsalign with project goals and financial constraints. Work withvendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and equipmentneeded for distribution projects. Negotiate pricing and deliveryschedules. Ensure that field inspections and estimations adhere tosafety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Analyze field data and cost estimates to identify areas for costoptimization and efficiency improvements. Generate detailed reportsand cost analysis summaries to communicate findings andrecommendations to project stakeholders.

Distribution FieldEstimator Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent istypically required. Some positions may prefer candidates with anassociate degree or relevant coursework in electrical engineeringtechnology or a related field. Entry-level positions may notrequire prior experience, but relevant experience in fieldinspections, electrical systems, or construction is a plus. Basicknowledge of electrical distribution systems, field inspectiontechniques, and construction processes. Familiarity withmeasurement tools and equipment. Strong mathematical and analyticalskills are essential for accurately estimating project costs andquantities. Proficiency in using software tools for datacollection, reporting, and basic cost estimation. Knowledge ofgeographic information systems (GIS) may be advantageous. Effectivecommunication skills to interact with project teams, vendors, andsuppliers, as well as to present field inspection findings and costestimates. A commitment to safety protocols and procedures inelectrical distribution and field work. Strong organizationalskills to manage field data, documentation, and project-relatedinformation. Willingness to learn and adapt to new field inspectiontechniques, software tools, and industry standards.
