Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of construction experience , specifically within industrial and commercial projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, evaluating project specifications and drawings, and working closely with project teams to develop winning bids and proposals. You will also be responsible for helping to develop a vendor network as well as soliciting bids from those vendors. Minimum travel will be required to scope projects and attend pre-bid job walks. Project management experience is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors. Assist in value engineering and alternative methods or materials analysis. Support project hand-off process to operations team post-award. Stay current on market trends, labor rates, and material pricing. Approximately 20% travel can be expected.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in industrial and commercial construction. Proficiency with estimating and project management software. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and scheduling. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Project management experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards. OSHA certification or other relevant construction safety training.

Salary Range:
