The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing detailed proposals for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and clients. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects using HeavyBid software. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for cost analysis. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget control. Utilize Bluebeam for takeoffs and document management during the estimating process. Provide support in the development of project schedules and timelines. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Proficiency in HeavyBid software is preferred; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus. Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation. Ability to effectively negotiate contracts with various stakeholders. Knowledge of cost control methods and practices within the construction industry. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
