Job Description
Construction Project Cost Estimator CCC & Pools 98 Riverview Drive, Saint Simons Island, GA 31522 We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Project Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Consult with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to discuss and formulate estimates. Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to understand project goals and design intent. Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers; ensure accuracy and completeness. Evaluate cost-effectiveness of materials and methods for residential construction. Create and maintain estimate templates, pricing databases, and unit cost libraries. Assist in value engineering to help clients meet budget goals without compromising quality. Present and explain cost estimates to clients and internal teams. Track project budgets and update estimates to reflect changes in scope or market conditions. Support the project team during pre-construction and throughout the project lifecycle. Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Prepare bid packages and proposals for clients or general contractors. Identify potential cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Maintain a database of historical costs, production rates, and market trends. Collaborate with project management teams to monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities. Adjust estimates based on scope of changes, market fluctuations, or unforeseen conditions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field (preferred). Proven experience (3+ years) as a cost estimator in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Solid understanding of local building codes, residential construction methods, and labor practices. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Planyway Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator – CPE, or equivalent). Experience with concrete/housing industry-specific projects Experience with green building practices and energy-efficient construction. Certification (e.g., Certified Residential Estimator, CPE, or equivalent). Familiarity with permitting and zoning requirements for residential projects in Georgia.

$65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
