JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Takeoff Specialist & Trim Estimator to join our team. This position involves both field and office work — you will drive to various job sites for measurements and inspections, takeoffs and also spend time in the office reviewing plans, and generating estimates. This role requires a natural ability to be resilient with a professional approach. Effective communication skills are essential. Dedication to customer service, quality control and safety. Employee is expected to represent the company with the highest level of integrity, character, professionalism, courtesy and ethics. Field work within a 60 mile radius of Atlanta.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review blueprints and project specs for residential trim work Perform accurate takeoffs for trim packages (crown, casing, baseboard, etc.) Visit job sites to gather measurements and verify conditions Prepare detailed, competitive estimates and bids Communicate with project managers, builders, and clients as needed Adjust estimates based on changes or scope revisions
EDUCATION & TRAINING
2+ years of experience in estimating or takeoffs (trim/carpentry experience preferred) Ability to read blueprints and construction plans Proficient with estimate software (Planswift) Comfortable traveling to job sites in the surrounding area Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail Strong communication and problem-solving skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
New home & general construction building codes. Detailed understanding of all construction documents and standards related to the millwork industry. Interior trim installation. OSHA safety standards. Knowledge and understanding of blueprints.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Good communication skills. High level of detail orientation. Effective time management and organizational skills. Self-disciplined and self-motivated. Safety Oriented. The ability to work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines. Must be able to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Must be organized with good communication skills. Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple team members. Physical ability to handle all trim materials and products including lumber and doors.
WORKING CONDITIONS HOURS / SHIFTS
40+ hours per week. Willing to work overtime as needed. SALARY $50,000 – $75,000 + per year (based on experience and qualifications)
