Full Job Description Eagle Railcar Services-Field Operations Position:
Estimator Position Summary:
The Estimator prepares and provides accurate estimates for railcars by information gathered by the Car Inspector during his/her walk around inspection. This information along with photos is reviewed and data inputted into a Railcar RX database. Once data entered, the estimate is sent via email or customer data base and an approval is requested.
Responsibilities:
- Understand Customer, AAR/FRA Requirements for estimating.
- Create and submit estimates
- Perform follow ups on approvals
- Create work orders for shop
- Build relationships with customer
- Scan NDT forms and submit to customer
- Prepare estimates for invoicing
Requirements:
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles
- In depth knowledge of the AAR Field Manual & M1002 Section C-III Specs For Tank Cars
- IT and Math ability with an analytical mindset
- Proficient in relevant software
Qualities:
- Communication and negotiation abilities
- Thoroughness and reliability
- Excellent organizational skills
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years’ experience as an estimator or similar position
