Lead Construction Estimator M & J Civil Construction, LLC Zachary, LA 70791 Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze costs and provide accurate estimates for various construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while also maintaining high standards of quality. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create accurate bids and proposals. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bidding. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to maintain cost control. Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors and clients. Assist in the evaluation of contractor bids and selection processes. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of cost control principles. Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Strong knowledge of construction management practices and methodologies. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate pricing strategies. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess project requirements accurately. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
