Estimator Zinsel Glass and Mirror LLC Gretna, LA 70056 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. While this position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and other stakeholders, we are open to hiring someone with little to no experience. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for commerical glazing projects based on project plans and specifications. Analyze project documents to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. Collaborate with project management teams to develop budgets and timelines. Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, and Glazier Studio for accurate takeoffs and bid preparation. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for estimates. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to bidding processes. Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors and stakeholders. Skills Proficient in cost control methodologies and practices within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction site operations and requirements. Experience with project management principles, ensuring timely delivery of estimates. Familiarity with Bluebeam for digital takeoffs and document management. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in estimating processes.
