Job Description
We are currently looking for an Estimator to join a well-established heavy civil contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in:
Utilities and asphalt paving for site improvements, commercial, multifamily, and subdivision projects
Wastewater and water treatment centers
Cityscape improvement projects
Heavy highway and civil construction, including DOT projects
Grade and drain work
Responsibilities:
Manage the entire bid process from invitation to final proposal submission
Analyze construction documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and identify scope of work
Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to assess site conditions
Review subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and compliance
Develop preliminary construction schedules and ensure estimates are complete and well-organized
Manage multiple bids, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Collaborate with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams
Qualifications:
5+ years of estimating experience in site development or highway construction
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proven ability to estimate projects
Strong knowledge of mass excavation, concrete structures, bridges, drainage, and utilities
Experience with value engineering, constructability analysis, and risk assessment
Proficient in estimating software
