Project Manager/Estimator Traffic Commander, LLC 3200 North Turnbull Drive, Metairie, LA 70002 JOB

DESCRIPTION

– Project Manager/Estimator Summary/Objective The Project Manager/Estimator position plans, directs, and coordinates, activities concerned with the construction of heavy/highway projects. Estimates costs of the project and once job is obtained, oversees its organization, materials, scheduling, and implementation. Essential Functions Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid using state and federal standards. Executes take-offs of construction documents. Obtains quotes from subcontractors and vendors for materials and labor as needed. Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items. Communicates with Managing Member of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted or contract items Develops and maintains company resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc. Attends departmental meetings as required. Other Assigned Duties

  • Work well with project management team, Operations Manager, Superintendent, and Foremen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with construction projects.
  • Confer with Operations Manager, Superintendent, and Foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and constructability problems.
  • Establish project objectives, enforce policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings
  • Work with project management team to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
  • Requisition supplies and materials to complete project.
  • Communicate plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.

Or 10 years + of Project Manager/Estimator experience
