The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze costs and prepare accurate estimates for various construction projects. The Cost Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Utilize bid software to create and manage estimates efficiently. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for more precise estimations. Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to cost management. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating or cost control within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and communicate with various stakeholders. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols is preferred. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
