Role:

The Estimator I is an integral part of theelectrical construction process and ensures competitiveness,profitability, and growth. The Estimator I is responsible for costestimates for various electrical construction projects. CompanyOverview Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a subsidiaryof MYR Group, Inc, has provided comprehensive electricalconstruction services to clients throughout the western U.S.Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both power lineconstruction and commercial/industrial electrical construction,making it a full service electrical provider. Sturgeon Electric’sCommercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical constructiondivision specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects,telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, highvoltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. SturgeonElectric has experience performing projects under Integrated LeanProject Delivery methods, and also offers pre-constructionservices, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and BuildingInformation Modeling (BIM) capabilities. Essential FunctionsPrepare complete cost estimates for substation constructionprojects Understand and monitor program of work to ensure estimatesare completed prior to deadlines Schedule and attend fieldwalk-downs with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnelto understand and determine constructability requirements Performfield take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation Comparevarious project documents for accuracy and consistency Participatein estimate review process with internal and external stake holdersAssist construction personnel throughout the project life-cycle intracking and understanding basis of cost estimate Assist in thepreparation and submission of change orders Follow-up at the end ofa project to close any loops in the estimating process Understandand comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethicsand other industry-specific professional and ethical conductstandards, if applicable

About You:

Qualifications Minimum 1

  • 3years of Electrical Estimating experience Bachelor’s degree inEngineering, Construction Management or a similar field;combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieuof degree Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Good knowledge of localelectrical codes Ability to read and understand civil,architectural, structural, mechanical, etc.

plans andspecifications to include blueprints, proposals and other relevantdocuments Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods ofinstallation Proficient with Microsoft Office applications andestimating software Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal,written, and communication skills Team player mentality Self-drivenwith the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time whileworking independently

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits Salary$75,000

  • 110,000 / year Commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
