Role:

A well-established commercial roofing contractor in the Metro Baton Rouge area is seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their in-office team. This individual will lead efforts to develop competitive and accurate estimates for commercial roofing projects, including new construction, reroofs, and coating systems. Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, technical roofing knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Estimating Execution:

Analyze blueprints and job specifications to determine project scope Perform job site inspections to collect field data Deliver precise material and labor take-offs Maintain competitive bid volume and meet deadlines

Cost Development:

Build detailed project estimates factoring labor, materials, equipment, and overhead Use digital estimating software to prepare proposals Reference historical data to improve pricing accuracy

Collaboration & Vendor Management:

Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes Work closely with sales and project management from bid to hand-off Maintain active follow-up on submitted bids and build client relationships

Reporting & Process Improvement:

Organize job cost histories and compile estimation reports Research materials, local codes, and market conditions to inform future bids Uphold company protocols and safety standards during all estimating tasks

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

3-5+ years of relevant estimating experience, preferably in commercial roofing Familiarity with flat and low-slope roofing systems, materials, and installation methods Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating platforms (EDGE preferred) Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits

Preferred:

EDGE V.12

estimating software experience CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)

OSHA 10/30

certification Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Conditions:

Primary office-based role with regular job site inspections Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Occasional overtime as needed to meet critical deadlines
