Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing takeoffs, analyzing plans and specifications, and working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders throughout the bidding process. This role is critical in ensuring that our proposals are competitive, accurate, and aligned with project goals and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates
• Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for projects
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
• Develop bid packages and cost breakdowns for proposal submissions
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates meet project requirements
• Track and analyze historical cost data for use in future estimates
• Assist in project scheduling and risk assessment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with federal or infrastructure projects (VA, USACE, NPS, NAVFAC, NOAA, USAF GSA, etc.)
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, ProEst, Excel, or similar)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and technical specifications
• Familiarity with FAR regulations and government contracting is a plus
