The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and construction practices, with a focus on delivering timely and precise bids that align with project specifications and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and ensure estimates align with project goals.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures and engineering options.
• Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings.
• Track and update estimate templates, databases, and historical cost data.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material pricing to ensure estimate accuracy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in estimating software ( ConEst – Intellibid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Licensed electrician or journeyman certification is a plus.
• Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery.
• Familiarity with project management tools and software.
