Full Job Description Model Based Cost Estimator The Opportunity:
Booz Allen is seeking an experienced Model Based Cost Estimator to join our analytical team supporting complex projects across multiple industries and client sectors. This role requires expertise in advanced cost modeling tools and methodologies to develop accurate, defensible cost estimates for critical client initiatives ranging from technology implementations to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Work On:
Develop comprehensive cost models using TruePlanning, SEER, or similar parametric cost estimating tools. Create detailed cost estimates for complex projects including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead components. Analyze historical cost data to develop and refine cost estimating relationships (CERs). Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical teams to gather requirements and validate assumptions. Perform cost risk analysis and uncertainty quantification using Monte Carlo simulation and other statistical methods. Support proposal development with accurate cost estimates and basis of estimate documentation. Develop and maintain cost databases and estimating templates. Present cost analysis findings to clients and senior leadership. Ensure compliance with government cost estimating standards and best practices. Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and cost performance analysis. Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
5+ years of experience in cost estimating and analysis Experience with parametric cost modeling tools such as TruePlanning, SEER-H, SEER-SEM, or PRICE Experience in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques Experience with cost risk analysis and uncertainty modeling Knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, including parametric, analogous, and bottom-up approaches Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree in
Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering Nice If You Have:
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Experience with construction cost estimating and analysis Experience working with international teams and global cost considerations Experience with federal government or DoD cost estimating requirements Experience with Agile project costing methodologies Knowledge of IT or technology project cost modeling Knowledge of construction industry project cost modeling Knowledge of additional tools such as Excel advanced functions, R, Python, or MATLAB Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills Professional Certification such as Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A)

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
