Construction Estimator D.P. Porter Contractors Inc. 35 Elaine Dr, Hermon, ME 04401 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by accurately estimating costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and clients. Duties Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects. Develop detailed project budgets by assessing labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Utilize software tools to create accurate estimates and manage project data effectively. Collaborate with project management teams to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and financial objectives. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate cost assessments. Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed. Prepare bid proposals and present findings to clients or stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field with a strong understanding of cost control principles. Proficiency in construction management software such as Autodesk and Procore is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents such as contracts and blueprints. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients. Familiarity with project management practices within the construction industry. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
