Actalent is looking to add an Estimator to our client’s team, a national leader in metal fabrication! Job Description We are seeking a skilled Estimator with a robust understanding of tank division customers, services, and capabilities. The role requires developing effective quoting tools and nurturing entry-level estimators while clarifying and interpreting customer requests to set up proposals that meet requirements. Responsibilities Develop effective quoting tools to standardize the process. Nurture entry-level estimators. Clarify and interpret customer requests for quotes and set up proposals to achieve requirements. Review customer prints, parts lists, CAD models, and other engineering documentation. Collaborate with internal teams to develop manufacturing processes and cost estimates. Obtain supplier quotes for materials, hardware, processing, subcontracting, and shipping. Prepare quotes for each tank division customer request. Maintain an organized system for working on multiple quotes simultaneously. Review and analyze historical costs of produced parts for basis of estimates. Contact existing customers to enhance relationships, seek additional opportunities, and gather market information. Coordinate with management by submitting metrics and KPIs. Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, and manufacturing capabilities. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending continuous training, educational sessions, and participating in professional organizations. Contribute to long-term strategy by accomplishing related duties as needed. Essential Skills Proficiency in estimation and AutoCAD. Experience in engineering and estimating software. Ability to converse intelligently with target customers knowledgeable in metal fabrication, precision machining, product development, and other technical specifications. Determining effective manufacturing processes and comprehensive job costs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating/quoting or equivalent experience. Preferred knowledge of metal manufacturing, industrial, or assembly processes. Experience working with engineering and technical buyers. A driven individual who is personable and a team player. Work Environment This is an on-site opportunity under new ownership.
