Estimator 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 3883 Delor Street, St. Louis, MO 63116 GMP Metal Products, Saint Louis, MO, a division of Wozniak Industries, Inc., a leading producer of metal stampings, fabrication and assemblies seeking an Estimator/ Manufacturing Engineer to support the business in the Engineering department.

Essential Duties:

Collaborate with the tooling and production department on reviewing potential new business for quote Prepare detailed estimates including labor, and material requirements Build step by step estimate of process and associated cost to manufacture a given part Coordinate quoting of any raw material, components, tooling, and outside processes & establish consistent criteria for RFQ process Analyzes actual costs to validate estimating standards Participate in discussions for cost reduction during part design/development with customers Look for internal cost savings opportunities in areas that may include raw material utilization, more efficient processing methods, and alternative outside processing options Work effectively in a team environment Support and/or drive GMP Metal continuous improvement initiatives Aid in developing training methods and implement new procedures and processes. Assist with new applications and tooling design to maximize productivity and positively affect margins Performs time studies on products, to determine if standard hours are accurate Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Proficiency in an ERP system Travel to support our operations/plant in Humboldt, Tennessee Must possess strong communication, organization, & decision-making skills Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Word and Excel is required. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute performance-based solutions is required. Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education Preferred:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience; preferred degrees include manufacturing or industrial engineering. (In lieu of degree, proven work experience in metal fabrication industry with hands on operation of multiple fabrication processes, specifically in stamping, welding, machining, press brake, and finishing operations may be substituted.) Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal stamping, fabrication, and/or related processing Knowledge of drafting programs which may include AutoCAD and Solidworks Familiarity with equipment including manual welding, robotic welding, laser, press brake, stamping Familiarity with processing including painting, plating, machining Familiarity with sheet steel and aluminum substrates Familiarity with 5-Axis Lasers a plus General Metal Products is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
