Quantity Surveyor / Estimator | Southport | Full Time | Up to £50,000 DOE Are you a detail-driven, results-oriented estimator with a passion for the roofing industry? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same? Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team in Southport. Established in 1985, they have grown to become one of the North West’s leading and most reputable flat and pitched roofing contractors. Are you the right person for the job? Minimum of 3 years’ experience in roofing estimation or a similar role, ideally within the UK construction industry Full UK driving license (max 3 points) Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Commitment to ongoing professional development in roofing estimation Physically fit, able to climb ladders/scaffolds, and confident working at height on roofs Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management techniques Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, contractors, and team members Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions during the estimation process What will your role look like? Conduct on-site inspections to assess roofing projects and gather necessary information Take accurate measurements and document existing conditions Analyse project requirements, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals based on project specifications and client requirements Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive quotes Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and subcontractors Attend pre -start project meetings and meetings as works progress to ensure accurate valuations Prepare and present detailed proposals and bids to clients, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraints What can you expect in return?
