What You’ll Do Responsible for converting design data into specific placing drawings through the use of MicroStation and rebar specific software
Determine the quantity, size, length, and bending shapes of bars from instructions and data provided by design drawings and project details
Ability to interpret data presented on design documents
Ability to read and understand design documents to establish rebar requirements
Prepare detailed placing drawings for ironworkers at the job site to install the reinforcing bars within the framework
Prepare detailed bar lists to be used in the fabrication of reinforcement bars for each project
Establishes communication as necessary with contractor, architect or engineer to obtain missing information pertinent to the project
Provides accurate placement drawings to the architect/engineer for approval
Meet project deadlines
Work effectively in a team environment to promote productivity
Participate in planning meetings
Facilitate problem solving sessions to resolve issues
Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
Understand and comply with applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, security, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics)
Complies with all applicable State/ Federal laws, regulations and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, AIB, etc.)
What You’ll Need Ability to read and interpret contract documents
Must be able to perform basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry
Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, Autodesk or Bentley CAD platforms
Basic knowledge of rebar types, shapes size, and applications preferred
Ability to use and understand basic linear measurements (i.e. feet inches, decimals, and metric system)
Excellent customer relation skills
Basic knowledge of structural concrete members and building systems
Must be able to visualize three dimensionally (spatial visualization)
Able to recognize colors
Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve unique problems
High level of attention to detail
Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
Strong verbal and written skills
Your Education Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technologies preferred
Satisfactory completion of computer aided drawing software program preferred
