Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team. We offer our estimators a base salary and participation in a profit-sharing program. Required Skills:
Candidates must have work experience in residential estimating and take-offs, with an understanding of materials, and methods used in residential construction. Must be detail oriented, have strong math and computer skills, and experience with Microsoft product suite. Candidate should have a strong knowledge of how a home is built from both design and a structural/engineering standpoint. Associate or bachelor’s degrees in architectural, drafting or construction related fields of study will also be considered. Drafting experience is not required but preferred. Prior take-off and estimating experience is required. Must have basic residential construction knowledge. Ability to read and understand blueprints, customer selection guide and sales contracts. Ability to apply industry knowledge to related drafting and estimating software. Positive and professional demeanor. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as a team player.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manual quantity take-offs of plans and options. Estimate custom homes through a
BIM / CADD
drafting program (SoftPlan). Estimate custom options and provide detailed quantities and prices for the sales team. Assist in the pricing of options and updating our sales software used in the sales process. Estimate base plans and maintain a base house cost in company job cost software. Estimate standard options and maintain a standard option cost. Drafting experience is a plus. Candidates will need to learn the basics of our CADD drafting software, but the primary job focus would be quantity take-offs and estimating. Coordinate with the sales team as needed to provide custom price request and options.
