Job Description:
As a Change Order Estimator at Nino Development, you will play a vital role in the estimation and management of change orders for civil construction, commercial, and residential sitework projects. You will collaborate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to assess the scope of changes, evaluate the cost implications, and provide accurate estimates for project modifications. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze change order requests, ensuring all changes align with project scope and contract terms. Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for change orders, including labor, materials, and equipment. Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and subcontractors to gather information for change order assessments. Communicate with clients and subcontractors regarding change order pricing and approval processes. Ensure that all change orders are documented and processed according to company procedures and project requirements. Assist in the evaluation of potential risks and impacts associated with change orders on project timelines and budgets. Monitor and track the status of approved change orders and ensure timely implementation of changes. Maintain detailed records of change orders, including calculations, approvals, and related correspondence. Support the project team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering strategies. Help ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in change order estimation, civil construction, or sitework (commercial or residential). Strong understanding of civil construction processes, sitework, and industry standards. Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate costs and assess project changes. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, and change order procedures. Experience with cost control, budgeting, and risk management practices.
