Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at a nuclear construction and modification company in Charlotte, NC/Aiken, SC. This is a long-term position offering relocation assistance, full benefits, and vacation. The Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, working closely with project teams to ensure competitive and comprehensive proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed electrical and mechanical construction cost estimates for nuclear construction and modification projects. Analyze project documents, including drawings and specifications, to determine scope, labor, material, and equipment requirements. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather and validate cost inputs. Develop pricing strategies and proposals that align with company goals and client requirements. Maintain and update cost databases to ensure accuracy and relevance. Utilize advanced Excel skills to create, format, and analyze estimate spreadsheets. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure all estimating processes are transparent and meet deadlines. Assist in value engineering and risk analysis to enhance proposal competitiveness.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of construction experience, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems. Must have ability to read drawings. Proven experience in estimating and proposal development, particularly in nuclear or industrial projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use advanced functions for data analysis and reporting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all estimates.
