Job Description

Job Summary:

Senior Project Estimator – DRI Plant Projects The Senior Project Estimator leads cost estimation efforts for Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) industrial plant projects. This role involves preparing detailed and accurate estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, logistics, and other project-related costs. The estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, commercial teams, and executives to support proposals, studies, and active projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for plant sales, aftermarket, and R D projects. Interpret RFPs and technical documents (e.g., P&IDs, drawings) to create cost estimates. Review estimates with key departments and present to senior/executive management. Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Basis of Estimates (BOEs). Maintain historical data sets and assist with cost control budgeting and scheduling tools. Create financial models to forecast project cash flow.

Skills and Requirements:
Required:

10+ years of industrial estimating experience, ideally in iron, steel, or related sectors. Expert in MS Excel and cost estimating software. Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred:

Professional cost estimating certifications (CEP, CCEA, or PCEA).

Education & Travel:

Degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Willing to travel (~5% domestically and internationally). This is a non-supervisory role that demands a high level of technical and collaborative skill in a complex industrial environment.
